7. Cookies

Schloss Schönbrunn, Hofburg Wien, Hofmobiliendepot and Schloss Hof uses cookies for performing its services (Art. 6 Abs [1] lit f DSGVO). Cookies are small pieces of data that the user’s Internet browser places and stores on his or her computer. Cookies make our Internet presence user-friendlier and enable us to recognise multiple usage of this web offer by the same user. Cookies are needed in particular for using a web shop.

Some cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. They enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.

If you do not want this option, you can set your browser in such a way that you are informed about the installation of cookies and you are enabled to allow this only in individual cases.

Users can prevent the installation of cookies by an appropriate setting in their browser software; Schloss Schönbrunn, Hofburg Wien, Hofmobiliendepot and Schloss Hof wishes to inform you however that in this case not all website functions can be used in their entirety.

8. Analysis of the Schloss Schönbrunn, Hofburg Wien, Hofmobiliendepot and Schloss Hof Internet presence

To improve and optimise its web presence, Schloss Schönbrunn, Hofburg Wien, Hofmobiliendepot and Schloss Hof uses Google Analytics, a Google LLC (“Google” in the following) web analysis service, Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google is certified under the Privacy Shield Framework Agreement and thus guarantees maintenance of the European Data Protection Law:

www.privacyshield.gov/participant. We have entered into a corresponding contract with Google for order data processing. You can find the Google Data Protection Declaration here: policies.google.com/privacy

Google Analytics uses so-called cookies, text data that is stored on the user’s computer and enables an analysis of the website usage by the user. The information generated by the cookie on usage of this website is normally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Our task in terms of the DSGVO/Data Protection Basic Regulation is to improve our offer and our web presence. Since our users’ private sphere is important to us, user data is processed under an pseudonym. Furthermore we can apply the “Google Tag Manager” system so as to integrate and manage the Google analysis and marketing services into our website (Art. 6 [1] lit f DSGVO).

We activated “anonymizeIp()” for our website; with this extension, IP addresses are re-processed in an abbreviated form in order to cut out direct personal references: the IP anonymisation analytics on this website abbreviates beforehand the IP addresses of a Google user within the member states of the European Union or other contracting states of the agreement on the European Economic Area. The full IP address is transferred to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there only as an exception.

In the course of using Google Analytics, Google evaluates website usage in order to compile reports on website activities and furthermore to provide services associated with website usage and Internet usage. The IP address transferred from a user’s browser in the framework of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. By using our web presence, the user declares him-/herself in agreement with the use of the data acquired from him/her in the way described above and for the aforementioned purpose.

User data is stored for the duration of 38 months.

Users can prevent the storage of cookies by an appropriate setting in their browser software; however, we wish to inform that in this case the user might not be able to make use of all functions of this website.

Over and above this, users can prevent the acquisition of the data generated by the cookie and related to their website usage (incl. their IP address), its transfer to Google as service provider, and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available through the following link:

tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

9. Google Marketing

We use Google AdWords and Google Remarketing of Google LLC (“Google” in the following), Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Internet users are shown ads both in Google Search and also on numerous advertising-sponsored websites. This occurs in every case. Google Marketing Services enable ads to be provided to those users who presumably take an interest in these advertised contents.

Vice versa, Google enables us to show our advertising specifically only to those users who are potentially interested in it.

Remarketing means that ads for products are displayed to a user in which he or she last showed an interest. This involves integrating so-called marketing tags into websites. When a user device accesses the website, a cookie (a small piece of data) is stored which notes the websites the user has visited. On surfing further, the user is shown specific ads based on these references.

Google Adwords implement the storage on the user’s computer of a cookie, if the user has accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies lose validity after 30 days and do not serve personal identification.

Information accessed with the aid of the conversion cookie serves to create conversion statistics for AdWords users (for instance through the overall number of users who have clicked the ad). But in doing so we receive no information that can be used to identify the user personally.

Use of Google Marketing is done based on (Art. 6 [1] lit f DSGVO). In addition, we have activated “anonymizeIp()” for our website, as explained in Point 8; with this extension, user data is processed further only under a pseudonym. This means that neither Google nor advertisers can specifically identify the user; name, e-mail address remain unknown in this procedure.

If you do not wish to take part in the tracking procedure, you can also reject the installation of the cookie required for this – for instance via the browser setting that generally deactivates cookies automatically, or by blocking cookies through the domain “googleadservices.com”.

Moreover you can use the opt-out option installed by Google:

www.google.com/ads/preferences.

10. Social Plugins

Schloss Schönbrunn, Hofburg Wien, Hofmobiliendepot and Schloss Hof does not use social plug-ins (e.g. share, like buttons) for its Internet presence in order to avoid data transfers to a social network that are unnecessary and not fully manageable to users of social plug-ins.

Links from this web presence lead solely to our presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. Please note: when accessing the respective networks and platforms, the operators’ business terms and conditions and data processing guidelines apply.

11. Facebook Pixel

For analysing and optimising our web presence we use the so-called visitor action pixel (“Facebook Pixel”) of Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA, or, should the user be resident in the EU, Facebook Ireland Ltd, Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook" in the following).

Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield Framework Agreement and guarantees the maintenance of the European Data Protection Law: www.privacyshield.gov/participant

You can find the Facebook data  guidelines here: www.facebook.com/full_data_use_policy

The social network Facebook is financed through ad spots. This advertising is displayed to every Facebook user. This means that Facebook ads are displayed to Facebook users in every case. Facebook Pixel helps in showing Facebook users advertising that presumably complies with their interests. This prevents completely irrelevant ad spots being displayed that in actual fact are only a nuisance.

We too use Facebook Pixel in order to place Facebook ad spots which target only those Facebook users who are most likely to take an interest in our range of offers. In doing so, we also create so-called custom audiences, whereby we define characteristics (e.g. interests, age groups etc.) in order to show our advertising to those users who are most likely to be interested in them.

Facebook Pixel enables us as well to determine whether our ad was interesting for Facebook users – especially if a user clicked the ad – by seeing whether the user clicked the ad and was thus linked further to our web presence. In this way, we can assess the effectiveness of our ads – nevertheless, the individual user who clicks the ad remains anonymous to us. We do not possess this data.

The Facebook Pixel is thus an opportunity on one hand for companies not to distribute advertising inconsequentially to cover all users, regardless of whether they are interested in the offer or not. On the other hand, the Facebook Pixel is also useful for Facebook users, because in this case they are shown advertising with the Facebook Pixel that in all probability is in a field that interests them – without Facebook Pixel according to the coincidence principle. The use of Facebook Pixel thus represents a predominant and entitled interest according to Art. 6 [1] lit f DSGVO.

Here, users can set what type of ads are shown to them on Facebook: www.facebook.com/settings

12. Newsletter Services

Sending of our newsletters is done through the Austrian despatch service dialog-Mail eMarketing Systems GmbH, Nussgasse 31, A-3434 Wilfersdorf. The despatch service is used based on our entitled interests according to Art. 6  [1] lit. f DSGVO and an order processing contract according to Art. 28 [3 ,1] DSGVO.

Sending of our quiz-newsletter at www.habsburger.net done through the US despatch service MailChimp, The Rocket Science Group, LLC675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE Suite 5000 Atlanta, GA 30308 USA. The despatch service is used based  on our entitled interests according to Art. 6 [1] lit. f DSGVO and an order processing contract according to Art. 28 [3 ,1] DSGVO.

As soon as you have registered for the newsletter, we send you a confirmation e-mail with a link to confirm registration (double opt-in). Newsletter registrations are protocolled (registration date and time, confirmation date and time, IP address), in order to be able to verify the registration process according to legal requirements.

The use of dialog-Mail represents an entitled interest in the application of a secure, user-friendly newsletter service. The following user data is processed: e-mail address, name, title and for the dialog-Mail newsletter a salutation.

In the course of using dialog-Mail, statistical data accessible in the newsletter to the receiver is communicated (opening, time of opening, what links were activated). This information serves the improvement of our newsletter. Data is not merged for creating individual user profiles.

13. Use of the analysis and CRM tool swat.io

Schloss Schönbrunn, Hofburg Wien, Hofmobiliendepot and Schloss Hof uses the tool swat.io of the Vienna company “Die Socialisten” Social Software Development GmbH, Andreasgasse 6, Top1 1070 Vienna, for storage, display and management of data on its pages on the social media platforms Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter. ”Die Socialisten” Social Software Development GmbH is directly subject to the DSGVO regime and is obligated by it. A contract was entered into for processing order data.

The tool swat.io on one hand serves customer service purposes, therfore assists in answering user comments in the social media contributions. In doing so, it works with user names that are chosen by users on the respective social media platforms and whose comments are used. An inference as to real names and addresses is not possible with the swat.io tool.

Over and above this, the tool is used for purposes of a collective processing and planning of content on these platforms. Last but not least, the tool enables us to assess the success of our contributions on social media platforms (the range and scope of a contribution, the intensity of interaction it triggered, etc.). But in the process it does not show an individual’s data. The use of this customer service and content tool is performed within the scope of a predominant and entitled interest (Art. 6 [1] lit f DSGVO).

14. User rights

You are entitled to the basic rights for information, correction, deletion, limitation, data transferability, revocation and opposition. If you believe that the processing of your data infringes the Data Protection Law, or your legal claims for data protection are violated in any other way, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria this the Data Protection Authority (https://www.dsb.gv.at).

The data we process is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for its purpose and if the deletion does not oppose any legal storage obligations.

In so far as data is not deleted because it is required for other / legally permissible purposes (e.g. product liability etc.), its processing is limited, i.e., the data is blocked and not processed for other purposes. Accordingly, a guarantee period of 2 years is regulated for instance for purchases (for moveable items); data of the purchase procedure is to be stored in order to manage possible claims. Moreover, according to § 132 BAO / Federal Fiscal Code, a storage for instance of bookkeeping documents, receipts, bills, etc. is to be kept for seven years, in association with property 22 years.

15. Issuing of information
