Public transport lines which take you directly to the Hofburg

Moving in Vienna (Wiener Linien)

Arriving by car

• From Vienna International Airport take the A4 motorway following signs for Wien-Zentrum until you arrive at the Ring (inner ring road), then turn on to Mariahilfer Straße
• Arriving from the south on the A2 motorway follow signs for the city centre to Südtiroler Platz, then take the northbound Gürtel (outer ring road) following signs for the Westbahnhof until Mariahilfer Straße
• Arriving from the west on the A1 motorway follow signs for city centre until Pilgramgasse, then turn onto Hofmühlgasse and Otto Bauer-Gasse until Mariahilfer Straße

There is an underground carpark diagonally opposite the entrance to the museum in Andreasgasse.

Arriving by train

• From the Westbahnhof (western railway terminal), journey time approximately 5 minutes
  Take the eastbound U3 (orange) underground line and alight at Zieglergasse (Exit Andreasgasse)
• From the Station Meidling, journey time approximately 10 minutes
  Take the northbound U6 (brown) underground line and alight Westbahnhof, change to U3 (orange) and alight at Zieglergasse (Exit Andreasgasse)

• By metropolitan railway ("Schnellbahn")

  At the Wien Mitte terminal change to the westbound U3 (orange) underground line and alight at Zieglergasse
